Kyrgyzstan is a state located in the central part of Central Asia. The name of the state is the "Kyrgyz Republic". The date of independence is August 31, 1991 (from the USSR). The capital of Kyrgyzstan is the city of Bishkek with a population of over 1 million people.
Administrative division: Kyrgyzstan is divided into 7 regions: Batken, Osh, Jalal-Abad, Naryn, Issyk-Kul, Chui, and Talas. The cities of republican significance are Bishkek and Osh.
Location: Kyrgyzstan is located in the western and central parts of the Tien Shan mountain system and in the Pamir-Alai. It borders Kazakhstan to the north, Uzbekistan to the west, Tajikistan to the southwest, and China to the east and southeast.
Area: 199,900 sq km. The total length of the state border is 4,675.17 km. The distance from the eastern to the western part of the state is about 900 km, and from the northern to the southernmost part is about 410 km.
Population: Over 6.6 million people live in Kyrgyzstan. Representatives of more than 80 nationalities live in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The official language is Kyrgyz, and the official language is Russian.
